New Style Peugeot Flip key – HOW TO Change Battery

When Peugeot launched the Flip key back in 2004, unlike the Titanic, it survived it’s initial outing. However, long-term, the key design has been a disaster, doomed, and another example of Inferior Component Design. So this new style Peugeot Flip key was a chance for Peugeot to make amends. On first look, we can’t see any major problems. To change the key battery is straight forward.

Okay, so at last they changed the design of the old key and here we have a new Peugeot key. It’s got the three buttons as you expect and a flip blade, and it seems to be much better than the old key. So we’re going to show you how to change the key battery. It’s really quite simple.

So this here is the battery cover and that section has got to come off. You haven’t really got a slot there but you can get a screwdriver in. The way you do it is really simple. You just rest your screwdriver on the silver keyring.

Find the gap, and just really gently lever the battery compartment cover up away from the key.

Up we go. So, on that occasion, the battery just flew out. They’re pretty easy to get out.

It’s a 2032,  just like most keys these days. If the battery doesn’t just jump out at you,  you want to go to the key blade end of the case and ease it out with a small screwdriver.

Just place it down there, and it will come out nice and easy. Then to put it back in, this part here. It’s quite difficult to see. There’s the battery connector in there.

so you need to get the battery heading in that way first and then push it down, okay? Then the battery sits just under these two little prongs.

Okay, and that’s that .So to get the battery cover back on, you’ve got a couple of prongs there.

They go in first at the front. Click that in place and then just squeeze the key together, it will click, and there you go. With the New Style Peugeot Flip key, you are good to go.
